Paintbrushes using nature's treasuresWe are back this week with another fun nature-based craft for kids. This week we are focusing on creating art using found natural items that have been gathered into "paintbrushes." I got this idea from Jessica Jackson, from Lee's Summit Play. Although I couldn't attend the art play date she hosted at the time, I have loved the idea ever since and looked forward to the time I could do this with my daughter. Although we have an abundance of both leaves and sticks, I decided that it would be fun to have this activity in one of our local parks. I tied it into our nature walk for the day, and my daughter loved gathering the necessary nature treasures for the paintbrushes. How we did itMaterials

I hope that you have been inspired by this activity. I loved being able to connect our nature walk with an art activity. The first part of this series included leaf painting; link is here. |
